Brigadeiro History
(Bree-gah-day-ro)

Brigadeiro ( Bree-gah-day-ro) is a Brazilian truffle made with condensed milk, chocolate and butter. They were created in the 1940s to support a candidate’s campaign who was running for President. His name was Eduardo Gomes and he was a Brigadier ( Brigadeiro is Portuguese for Brigadier) in the Brazilian military.  Women supporters started making these truffles to raise money for his campaign. Although he didn’t win, the truffles became very popular. People started calling them “the Brigadier’s sweet” and eventually just brigadeiro.

Brigadeiro Barn mixes milk, white or dark chocolate, sweetened condensed milk and butter to create these amazing truffles!
They are rolled into round shapes and covered with different toppings like: Belgium chocolate sprinkles or flakes, pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, white chocolate shavings, shredded coconut, and much more.

Brigadeiro Barn only uses the best quality ingredients available.
We buy organic and local ingredients whenever possible.
